LETTER TO THE HEM IN YOU.

LETTER TO THE HEM IN YOU.
Dear Hem, I know everyone desires to be comfortable; it is very hard to step into the unknown but you have to remember the words of M.S Mountains which says, "in order to pioneer, you have to be willing to let go of what you are, what you have been and even what you think you should be. A pioneer must let go of the known and venture into the unknown. He risks what he is in order to become something greater."

Life indeed is a moving vehicle, it is not static and that should be our lives model. Do you sit back on a bus and abandon your destination when it develops fault and cannot go ahead? Definitely NO! It is mentally acceptable for you to gt down and board another. Even at times, you curse the driver for the fate of the bus out of annoyance for being driven halfway.

Hem, do not forget that one's present situation either good or bad can never be permanent. Change is inevitable and we must not take life too seriously so that we do not get stuck and unable to embrace new horizon when the table is turned. Those who refuse to change will be left redundant in life.

For every waking morning, have a open-mind, be willing to welcome challenges, be ready to raise the anchor and step out of the shores of fears and just like Haw, think of what you would have done if you were not afraid and that, you should do. When you step out of the shore of fears and launch into the unknown , do not give thought to the comfort zone because it is a death trap.  Launching into new road is better than standing at the station that leads nowhere.

Life is not fair and it will never be fair as long as you refuse to be fair to yourself. Life is just what you make of it. Intact, you have to do something the moment you realise life is unfair.  Like Sniff and Scurry, do something.

There will always be changes occurring in every facet of our lives. Hence, never hold on to anything too tightly. Realise when it is not working, recognise when you should put out and take in. Be flexible, monitor the present, enjoy change.  Move with life.
Happy new month; Happy Independence Day. Nigeria at 55. Let's take a step away from bothering about how far the country has come but rather how far we have come as individuals. After all, we are the country.

-Hem, Ham, Scurry and Sniff are characters in "Who Moved My Cheese" by Dr Spencer Johnson. The cheese represents every area if human life whether business, relationship, academic etc.
